{Children} Tianna

This little sweetheart is my cousin's daughter, Tianna, who recently celebrated her second birthday. She is the third of three girls and is seemingly having no trouble finding her place in the family; full of spunk and fun! You can see a session I did of the family last summer, right over here.

Chris and Myrna are originally from Alberta and we have spent many summer and Christmas holidays staying on the farm that Myrna grew up on, but they moved out here to BC so Chris could work on - and finish - his Masters of Divinity. So for the past two years, we've had the privilege of them living just 20 minutes away, something Myrna, myself and our kids have especially been able to enjoy with lots of playdates.

However, Chris did get his Masters and his new job found them back in Alberta, so we had them over for dinner a couple of weeks ago and took the opportunity to go to the park so I could capture some of Tianna's spunk as a new 2-year-old. What fun it was! I hope you enjoy the beauty of this family in these pictures.

{Graduation} Kaylan

This session was a first for me - I hadn't done grad photos before, but I was very excited about it! Leading up to the session, the weather forecast was up and down and really ended down. The plan was to meet at Kaylan's house for some portraits of her at their beautiful Chilliwack Mountain home, and then meet a bunch of her friends for more photos at the Museum.

As I drove out, it rained and rained. When I arrived at their house, it had stopped! The ground was wet, but we managed with it and got some great pictures, no thanks to the swarms of mosquitoes. Once we got a good set of photos of Kaylan on her own, we drove off to meet her friends at the Museum, and we were not the only ones with that idea. There were lots of other grads that met there too for pictures as it's such a beautiful location.

We got started right away and the more we got into the session, the more of their friends arrived, so the group kept growing. It was such a great time with these grads - they were super excited about their day, were willing to jump around a little and had lots of combinations of pictures they wanted together.

And as we wrapped up - me to head home, and them off to their prom - the rain started again and it poured during my drive home. Thankfully they ended up with beautiful sunshine for their dinner.

Congratulations to all of the grads of 2011 - you looked amazing and I'm so glad you had a great prom!

{Newborn} Ross

I had the privilege of meeting this little guy when he was just one week old, along with his 3-year-old brother, Grant, and his parents, Ian & Claire. What a sweet family! Grant is fitting into his big brother role very easily, giving baby Ross lots of kisses and love, helping his mom out as she recovers from her C-section by bringing diapers when needed.

It also didn't take too long to notice both boys' dimples that they inherited from their mom - so adorable! I think it could be great for the boys when they're older, not so great for their parents as they try to ward of all the girls :)

Thank you, Claire & Ian, for meeting up with me and allowing me to photograph you and your boys. What a beautiful family - congratulations again!

{He slept! I asked them to bring Ross just in a diaper in his carseat, covered with blankets, so there was no jostling him around trying to undress him - it worked great!}

{Newborn} Hope

I was really excited when Jen contacted me a few months ago, asking me to do some newborn pictures of their third beauty. We know each other from church and their kids are not just super cute, but lots of fun to be around!

We were able to try out a new location, which happened to be the farm of a friend through my daughter's ballet class. It also turned out to be just two streets down from Rob & Jen's house, which was rather convenient. The rain was hit and miss all morning and as I drove to the location, it was sunny but sprinkling. Throughout the session there were some sprinkles of rain here and there, but it all managed to work out just fine, thankfully.

After some outdoor time, we went back to their house and Jen helped Hope go to sleep and we took a few sleepy baby pictures. Thanks for letting me come to take some pictures of your beautiful (and photogenic!) family; it was so much fun!
