An Announcement

To my amazing clients,

Last January I was offered an administrative position at our church three, half days a week. We accepted that position as it was in line with my background/skills and was ideal with the kids' school schedule and helped me get my foot back into the 'working world.' That's not to say that raising kids and/or being a photographer isn't work! I just mean back into the scheduled, regular hours, co-workers type of work :)

After some casual conversations with our office manager in past months, I finally had a more official ask at my 6 month review last month as to whether or not I would consider working five days a week. As we considered this, we knew that it meant letting photography go. Even though the schedule would still be just while the kids were in school, we did not want to have me continually away on weekends and busy editing during the evenings. We wanted to protect time together as a family.

So we accepted and I start next Monday.

It's going to be hard to let photography go as I have really loved it! I am considering 2-3 mini-session days per year depending on how things go, such as in the fall (for Christmas pictures) and in Spring or Summer. I can't commit either way at this point but I'd love if it worked out that way.

I am excited about having Saturdays with the kids. For having a predictable(ish) routine. For having steady income on my part. For having evenings with my husband. For the challenge and blessing of these new responsibilities.

Thank you for the privilege of photographing you as families and couples, allowing me into your home as you welcomed a new baby, for meeting with me as extended family, all to capture moments in time, seasons of life. I am grateful for your recommendation of me to other people - I have operated solely on word of mouth and I thank you for every time you've passed my name on and spoken well of me. I simply could not have done it without you!

Thank you!
Kelly

PS. I will continue to post sessions here until I'm caught up...whenever that shall be!
