{Couples} Don & Marion

This is a bit of a special post because these are my parents! We went on a family vacation to Pender Harbour on the Sunshine Coast after the summer and while I had hoped to do mini sessions with each of my family, the timing of activities and the like only allowed for this one session. And rightly so, they are the head of the family, the reason we were all there, so I was very happy to turn my lens to them.

My parents have been married for 35 years - I know and see that their love gets stronger each year and that they are truly in love. Couple sessions are my favorite so far because it's so easy to direct two adults. Don't get me wrong though, I do love photographing families and kids, there's just more ease and creativity with just adults. And after 35 years, my parents still have a natural spark that made these photos so natural and so them.

Thanks Mom and Dad for hiking down that steep hill to get to the point and let me take pictures of you during the one moment of sunshine all week. Thanks for all you've done for us as a family as a whole and specifically for this wonderful vacation - best EVER! Love you both!

{Family} Mark & Bobbi

Over a week ago, I had the privilege of meeting up with this family at Centennial Beach in Tsawwassen - the beach I grew up going to and is very close to my hometown. Bobbi got my name through Cynthia and as it turns out, she also knows my husband and my best friend from high school - what a small world!

Until now, I haven't had the opportunity to do a photo shoot at the beach and I was super excited! It happened to be a beautiful, sunny day which can make for some squinty eyes and shadows, but they did exceptionally well and I'm very pleased with how it all turned out. These kids are high energy and though Bobbi apologized for the way they were, I think kids are pretty much always wild when it comes to a photo session, so I just chased them and snapped away!

Thanks for spending some time with me at the beach - it was great fun!

{Family} Frank & Tina

After an opportunity to photograph Tina's extended family, I had the chance to meet up with just her immediate family in Old Clayburn Village. I had not done a session there before and I was so glad when they chose that location because I've been so interested in shooting there. The weather turned out quite nice - a comfortable temperature and overcast, so there was no squinting into the sun.

It was great fun to walk from site to site with three chatty boys close on my heels as their parents and little sister walked behind us. They were eager to know where we were going...or maybe they were eager to be done! No, they really did a great job and it was so fun to get to know this family a little bit better.

Thanks for meeting with me, being comfortable to be yourselves and putting up with wet feet from the dew! I had a great time with you all.

{Dare I say, they are all quite smitten with Ella}

{I won't reveal what Frank was doing behind me that got these very natural smiles from all the boys, but hey - it worked!}
