{Family} Joel, Jen, Zach & Masen

Last weekend I had the chance to meet with this beautiful family at the studio. They are from my 'home' province of Alberta, but moved here a little while ago and Joel is now employed by a company I worked with for a few years. Jen was also roommates with a friend of mine, and Masen's birthday is just a day before mine, and Zach's birthday is not that far off from my 2-year-old, so there are lots of different connections between us.

These two boys are totally adorable (kind of an obvious statement once you start looking) and were so much fun to photograph. Joel and Jen are super sweet, really easy-going and are very attentive parents to their little guys. I really had a hard time choosing favorites to share here because the whole family was so photogenic, making for a lot of great pictures!

Thanks for meeting with me - I really enjoyed meeting you and hope for a continued sense of settling in, here in B.C.

{Family} Phil, Tara, Dax & Raina

I first met Tara through a playgroup at my church and while I'm not able to bring my kids there anymore, we still stay contacted through our blogs and Facebook. I was really excited about photographing this family and the weather was looking favorable. We met out on the Sumas flats and that should have prepared me, but somehow it didn't. It was sunny and cold...plus really windy! Hats off to this family, especially the kids, for putting up with the weather to get some shots done.

I did keep things fairly simple as the kids made it pretty clear they were not too thrilled with the cold wind (I do not blame them!), and I think the results are pretty good! I find that most kids really shine when they do their individual photos; like they know the spotlight is on them and they're ready to rock it. Dax and Rain were no different - boy are they cute!

Thanks to you four for meeting with me - perhaps next time we'll choose a warmer season :)

{Children} Elijah & Joseph

Let me say first that I find return clients to be a major compliment and these two have certainly been in front of my camera a few times before. First when Sarah was pregnant with Joseph and then again after he was born. Now he's eight months old and is developing his own little personality. These two boys are super handsome (as you can clearly see) and it was so much fun just photographing two kids!

Sarah asked me to do a mini session with hopes for a Christmas card picture and I'm discovering that I find mini sessions for a full family very challenging because I want to capture all of them together, individually, Mom with the kids, Dad with the kids and all the other combination's. But doing a mini session with just two boys was pretty perfect. Their attention span isn't very long and it didn't need to be. With a super happy 8-month-old and a 4-year-old that found great humor in calling me a turkey, I think these turned out just perfect!

Thanks Sarah for allowing me another chance to photograph your handsome (little) boys!

{I'm not sure this handsome guy knows it, but our daughter is quite set on marrying him!}
