{Portraiture} Taylor

Oooh, this was a fun session! So, Taylor has been a piano student of mine for four years though that has sadly ended this past June as she heads into middle school and has a heavy musical requirement there. She's been such a great student and I'm obviously sad to see her go, but we had some great times in lessons together :)

We are also in LifeGroup/Bible Study with her parents, Dave & Chauntel. I did a session for them a couple of years ago that you can see here, and when Chauntel suggested that she'd like me to do a session of Taylor riding, I jumped at the opportunity!

I went a week early to check out lighting and what the area was like and Taylor was actually riding bareback, so I took pictures already that week as she doesn't ride bareback very often. Then it was back the following week for the actual session. The weather was perfect, it was so much fun and while I thought it would be so picturesque to have Taylor and her horse, Elvis, standing in the grass, he thought it was heaven to have all that fresh grass to eat! We could not get his head up from the grass, though we tried valiantly. However, it was such a blast and I am happy with how they turned out.

Enjoy!

{Family} Ben & Carly

I have actually photographed this family before but I had made an error on one of my camera settings that caused problems with my focus and only a small amount of the pictures turned out. I never posted them, but what I did to, was learn from that unfortunate mistake to check all my settings before a session (I had always checked the basic ones, but now I go a few steps further)! So this was a make-up session and I can point you back to another session I had done when Seth was just born, right over here.

Anyway, Ben is my husband's cousin and so Carly and are the 'married-ins'. It's been great getting to know them through family gatherings, most recently at Oma's 90th birthday.

For the session, we were back and forth on the weather and when we pulled into the parking lot, it started raining. We parked beside each other and chatted for about 10 minutes and then they got the boys ready and the rain stopped! It couldn't have been more perfect, because then there were a few more drops as we drove away.

These boys are super cute and I had so much fun with them! A fun afternoon, bright colors and they're just so darn cute! I am so glad this session worked out :)
