{Family} Greg, Feona, Jerod & Davis

I feel like I start all of my posts saying how much fun each session was, but it's true - I always have fun and this session was no exception. Greg is my best friend's brother, so growing up I spent a lot of time at their house and on holidays, meaning I got teased a lot by Greg and thrown in the lake a few times too while I would holiday with them in the Okanagan. Of course, we all got older and more mature (I think) and it's been great to see Feona join the family and then watch them adopt their two adorable boys. Oh, and I can't help but mention the beautiful flowers that Feona does, so be sure to check out Tudor Rose Flowers.

This was the first time I've had significantly different skin tones in one shot, so it was another learning experience for me, but what better time to learn than with these cuties? And despite the fact that Greg was apparently hoping for rain all morning so we would have to cancel our session, I think he did a pretty great job! I am so thankful that the rain held off and that the storm clouds made it into a few pictures. Thanks for meeting with me - I really enjoyed hanging out with you and watching your energetic boys run around.

{No matter how far out the tide is, kids always want to get to the water's edge}

{I think by this point, Jerod was done with looking at the camera, but I love Davis' pose}

{Sneak Peak} Greg, Feona, Jerod & Davis

I couldn't choose which of these two cuties to post as a teaser shot, so I figured I would do one of the two of them together! They are so cute! Can't wait to share the rest of the session with you in the next couple of days!

{Extended Family} Peter & Christa

A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to meet with an extended family - it also happened to be my first session with people I had never met before. Until now it's been all friends, so this was an exciting opportunity.

I had some time with Peter & Christa before the rest of the family arrived and they informed me that this winter they will be celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. I couldn't help but ask them for their best piece of advice for someone who is still kind of 'starting out' (we will be celebrating our 7th anniversary this Christmas). They told me to keep a short account and to forgive. It's always great to hear advice that not only sounds reasonable but is tried and true through the years of experience of others!

I enjoyed my time with this family - they were all so laid back and fun! And as it turns out, one of the 4-year-old twins, Sophia, is in ballet class with my daughter. It's so fun finding connections; the world is such a small place sometimes.

We had dark clouds hanging over us for the whole session, but thankfully the rain held off until the last couple of pictures. Thanks for meeting up with me - I enjoyed getting to know you all a bit through our time together!

{Even though they're fraternal twins, they do look similar to me. Maybe it's the smile? So cute!}

{Most of the time, Ethan did not want to smile for the picture. All it took was "Ethan, don't smile!" and we'd get the best smile.}
