{Family} Doug & Carolyn

This was an incredibly special session for me to do, as Doug and Carolyn are good friends of ours. Carolyn and I were bathroom buddies in college (in that we and our roommates all shared a bathroom), though it wasn't until after she and Doug were married and my husband and I got married, that we really connected.

It's unfortunate that we now live a couple of provinces away from each other and only see each other every few years. We did both live in BC for a couple of years, back when their first two kids were born, and then they moved away just before baby #3 arrived. They were in town for a visit and we were able to spend their last day here with them, so they got to meet our youngest (now three!) and we met their youngest (just one year old).

They used to live in North Vancouver, so we had talked about a few different locations there, but in the end they chose Dudarave Beach in West Vancouver - a place we had never been before but can't wait to go back. It was so beautiful there and such a comfortable temperature with a bit of a breeze. Oh, and the whole family is so naturally photogenic is was super easy to just enjoy them without feeling at all like I was working!

Doug & Carolyn, it was such a delight to spend the day with you - it was refreshing, beautiful, fun and such a blessing to see you again. You are such a beautiful family and your kids are amazing. We really miss you and look forward to when we get to visit again. And thanks for introducing us to such a wonderful spot!

Love that last shot and also the one of them on the log near the end. We have a family shot of us sitting on the beach on a log and it is still one of my favourites.
