{Children} Taeya

I am pretty biased about this session because this is our daughter, Taeya, who will be turning five next month; but I think this is probably my favorite session ever. I had promised her last June that we would go to the Old Clayburn Candy Store after her last ballet class, but they were closed and seem to be closed at the strangest times. Anyway, I called them one day and once I knew they were open, we got ourselves ready to do this photo shoot for her fifth birthday.

She had a blast in the candy store, picking out all the candy she wanted to try, and more than any other time, she loved the idea of having her own photo shoot instead of mommy going to take pictures of other people.

I used my new 50mm f/1.8 lens, figuring this was the best format to practice in and I was not disappointed! Plus I finally took the time to figure out how to do collages in Lightroom, so I plan on using those from now on.

Of course, I could not publish the two pictures for her actual birthday - for her invitation and thank you card. You will have to wait until her birthday at the end of May to see those! I welcome your comments to see what your favorite(s) picture is.

{She is very good at turning to me, giving me a stellar smile, but looking elsewhere!}

{I love the first photo below; she cracked through that sucker as my shutter opened. Not to mention below that where the rock just released from her hand - I love my new lens!}
