{Family} Andrew & Avery

This way this session came about was a first for me. I was at Derby Reach doing a session one day and at the end, this lady came up to me and told me how she'd seen me at the beginning of my session and the thought crossed her mind to talk to me about pictures. She had decided not to but thought if she saw me again, she would come talk to me. Sure enough, we were both in the parking lot after and so she insisted it was something she'd never done, but was hoping I would be able to schedule a session for her and her family. I was so sad because I was booked to the max and had no idea how I could possibly fit her in. Until she mentioned that her husband works shift-work and we could meet during the week. Bingo!

I am so glad that she came to talk to me and that we were able to fit in a session. They're from out of town but had lived in the area because of work but were moving again because of his job. It was so random and fun to make people and places connections!

Jorja was such a sweetie...really reserved until we got to the big field and she had a great time running around (and falling into the dewy grass as there was a bit of a slope). Avery mentioned how special it was to have family photos done there because they had spent so much time there while they lived in the area.

Avery, thank you for coming up and introducing yourself to me. I had a great time with you, Andrew and sweet little Jorja. I hope you are settling in nicely to your new home :)

{Family} Ian & Claire

I first met this family of four when Ross was a newborn; I love having the opportunity to meet up with clients again and see how much the kids have grown! I was so surprised to see how light Ross's hair had become since he was so dark as a newborn.

It was a fresh morning when we met at Sendall Gardens, but we worked pretty quickly and with the location having such a variety in such a small space, there wasn't a lot of walking needed (although I suppose that would have helped keep us a bit warmer).

I had a great morning with the four of you - it was great to see you again; and thanks for toughing out the chilly air!

{Family} Jon & Genny

Here's another family you'll probably recognize from their first session and second session. Both of those times, Jon was able to make it very last minute which was awesome. This time, we kept it open and decided to make it work a day that Jon was off. And wouldn't you know it, the weather was fantastic!

We met after school and had about an hour before the sun went down! They decided to go casual with jeans and hoodies this time and I loved it. The colors were bright, everyone was relaxed and it was so much fun! And the late afternoon fall sun? Awesome!

So glad it worked out again! Thank you, friends.

{Family} Gerdi & Sarah

If you've been following this blog for a while, you'll recognize this family! When they were pregnant with their second son, Joseph and then when he was a newborn. Next was two years ago for a Fall mini session and then about a year ago when they were pregnant with their third son, Joshua. The last session I did with them was when Joshua was about three months old; he had major complications when he was born and his life is a miracle to be celebrated! Now, Joshua is almost one and I was honored to once again, photograph these dear friends of ours, their energetic boys and miracle baby.

Of course, we've experienced Daylight Savings here, so things get darker a lot sooner now but I went before school was out and photographed Joshua for a while and then Joseph while Sarah went to pick up Elijah. After a quick change we moved onto family pictures and managed to get them all done just as dusk was hitting.

Thank you, friends, for allowing me the privilege of photographing all of you and capturing Joshua at age one!

{Family} Brandon & Carly

I met up with Brandon, Carly and their kids on one of the last nice days in October before the weather turned into "Fall" weather...you know, all the rain, wind and dark clouds. I was so thankful we were able to get this session in before then!

Their son, Ben, definitely kept me moving and on my toes, while Ava was super laid-back and relaxed through the whole session. Brandon and Carly were totally easy-going too, so it made for a fun and breezy session together.

Thanks for meeting me at Derby Reach - it was great to meet you and chase Ben :)
