{Family} Mark & Laura
Another familiar family on the blog, is Mark & Laura with their kids, Taye & Nya. And even though I have done pictures for them several times, Taye loves to make me work to get his natural smile out of him. It's hilarious but we always manage to get some great expressions, have some good laughs and natural smiles too.
Thank you, Mark & Laura, for allowing me to do your family pictures again and for the great time that you always bring to our sessions!

{Family} Peter & Natalie
So, I'm getting older. I was Natalie's youth leader way back when and here she is, all grown up with a wee little family (with another on the way, but that was not the case during this session). Well, Olivia didn't care too much for me, no matter how hard I tried. But we managed to get a few smiles out of her. Best of all, her big blue eyes! So gorgeous, right?
Thanks, Peter & Natalie, for allowing me to do your family photos - I'm so glad it worked out and that you guys are living back in BC again!
{Do you see how she loved me?}

{They may be slight Canucks fans...}

{The bottom picture...she was a wee bit upset that they were not paying attention to her!}

{Maternity} Josh & Sarah
This is a bit of a popular couple/family on this blog and after their gender reveal session, next up was their maternity session! And since their son was born a few weeks after the session, you'll see them again here soon as a family of six!
I always have a blast with this family and I always have to work a bit at getting the kids to feel comfortable and natural with me. But it always comes together and I always leave my sessions with them smiling because I've had so much fun with them!
There are not many people that have such a perfect basket-ball baby belly like Sarah does, but it's just so perfect and round and she always looks amazing pregnant! Enjoy some summer-y photos of this cute family.

{I was so excited that they let me in on the secret of the baby's name. We had to lock the kids in the van and set the picture up so their oldest, Braedon, couldn't read the name}

{Children} K's One!
This is a very dear family to my family and I. I met Brenda through blogging several years ago, and then our husbands met (and we first met in-person) when we all attended another blogger-friend's wedding. And this is their son, K. He is 18 months now, but when I did this session, he was just about one.
We did this session early in the morning, around 8-8:30am and did it in about 15 minutes. I took my kids along with us to help get him smiling and it worked. When we did pictures of just Reid & K, we had to send Brenda away for a few minutes so K wouldn't flip out.
The session was a blast and we are so blessed to call this family our friends. Love you guys!

{Amazing blue eyes and looooong lashes!}

{Family} Frank & Tina
Let's pretend like I'm not months behind. That I'm not posting summer 2013 sessions in February of 2014. Just pretend.
You will probably recognize this family of six as I have done a few sessions for them and I was excited when they asked me to photograph them again. It was a beautiful summer evening and their youngest, Ella, was chattier than she had ever been. What a blast she was! I always enjoy my time with this family as they are just so relaxed, have a great time together and are just fun to be around!
Thanks for allowing me the privilege of updating your family photos again!

{Extended Family} Doug & Ruth
I love how this session came about! Doug & Ruth's daughter-in-law, KaraLyn, is friends with my dear friend, Laura. Somehow, I started reading KaraLyn's blog several years ago and have been so encouraged by her writing about family life and serving God. I also found out that I went to college with her sister (different programs, different age, but I knew her and her roomies well!) waaaay back in the late 90's.
Anyway, they were all coming together in July and decided that for Ruth's birthday, they wanted to do family pictures together. We discussed a couple of location options but agreed that Mill Lake area would provide good shade on a warm summer evening and equally be very beautiful. I had wanted to do pictures at Trethewey House on the property too, but there was a wedding or some sort of event going on (I had checked their website earlier and knew a car show was on that day but also that it would be done hours before our session). Anyway, we still found plenty of places to go!
It was so great to meet KaraLyn in person, meet her husband and kids and then spend some time with her extended family. I had so.much.fun. with this family! And once we were done, they went off to a week-long holiday together - how awesome!
Thank you to everyone for spending time with me and being yourselves...it was so beautiful to see your family interact as a whole!
