{Children} Elijah & Joseph

Let me say first that I find return clients to be a major compliment and these two have certainly been in front of my camera a few times before. First when Sarah was pregnant with Joseph and then again after he was born. Now he's eight months old and is developing his own little personality. These two boys are super handsome (as you can clearly see) and it was so much fun just photographing two kids!

Sarah asked me to do a mini session with hopes for a Christmas card picture and I'm discovering that I find mini sessions for a full family very challenging because I want to capture all of them together, individually, Mom with the kids, Dad with the kids and all the other combination's. But doing a mini session with just two boys was pretty perfect. Their attention span isn't very long and it didn't need to be. With a super happy 8-month-old and a 4-year-old that found great humor in calling me a turkey, I think these turned out just perfect!

Thanks Sarah for allowing me another chance to photograph your handsome (little) boys!

{I'm not sure this handsome guy knows it, but our daughter is quite set on marrying him!}

{Family} Tyler, Thineka & Gryson

Last week I braved the construction along Highway #1 to head to North Vancouver for a session with this beautiful family. Thankfully, the traffic was surprisingly light and it took me only an hour to get there (and home, for that matter!) and even better, the dark and rainy forecast was replaced with gorgeous sunshine. Of course, that increases the challenge of squinting, shadows and blinking, but it's better than facing a downpour!

Tyler informed me that Movember had just begun and he hadn't thought about that when scheduling the photo shoot, but when you don't know a person without it and that's all you know, it looks pretty natural! This beautiful couple has a very handsome son, Gryson, who is nearing 5 months old, and they just celebrated their second wedding anniversary a few days after our time together.

Thank you, Tyler and Thineka, for letting me spend a bit of time with you and your super cute little man. It was great meeting you and getting to know you a little bit while enjoying a beautiful fall day together.

{Couples} Don & Marion

This is a bit of a special post because these are my parents! We went on a family vacation to Pender Harbour on the Sunshine Coast after the summer and while I had hoped to do mini sessions with each of my family, the timing of activities and the like only allowed for this one session. And rightly so, they are the head of the family, the reason we were all there, so I was very happy to turn my lens to them.

My parents have been married for 35 years - I know and see that their love gets stronger each year and that they are truly in love. Couple sessions are my favorite so far because it's so easy to direct two adults. Don't get me wrong though, I do love photographing families and kids, there's just more ease and creativity with just adults. And after 35 years, my parents still have a natural spark that made these photos so natural and so them.

Thanks Mom and Dad for hiking down that steep hill to get to the point and let me take pictures of you during the one moment of sunshine all week. Thanks for all you've done for us as a family as a whole and specifically for this wonderful vacation - best EVER! Love you both!
